Our Story

How it all started...

Hope Fellowship began meeting as a home Bible study group in 1985. It became an official church plant project of the North American Baptist Conference in 1987, with Pastor Dennis Dewey as the founding pastor. In 1996, Hope Fellowship completed construction of its physical building at NW Barry Road and N. Conant Avenue in Kansas City's Northland. It thrives in that space today.

As Hope Fellowship grew, additional staff members were brought alongside Pastor Dewey in ministry, including a full-time youth pastor, and a part-time church secretary.

After 33 years of faithful service, Pastor Dewey retired in 2019.
