Having Hope Despite COVID-19

We face uncertain times, but we are the people of Hope! However, we know the coronavirus situation is concerning and creating anxiety. Hope Fellowship's Leadership Team met and has laid a course for HFC for the coming weeks. Please be patient, understanding, and supportive as we walk this unknown path. Our priority is to put God at the center of this experience and ensure that we build and strengthen our relationship with Him and each other.

No matter the circumstances we face, we must always remember that, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever” (Heb. 13:8). God is with us and He will lead us through this experience.

The HFC Facebook page and this web page will provide the most current and updated information. Subscribing to our e-mail list is also a great way to stay up-to-date on the latest.

Join us each Sunday for our worship service on Facebook Live at 10:15 a.m.!

VBS AND MISSIONS TRIP CANCELED; CAMPS STILL PLANNED

Due to the ongoing threat with COVID-19, Hope Fellowship has chosen to cancel its VBS in June. Mrs. Bekah is working on some alternate activities for the kids this summer. In addition, the youth group's annual World Changers mission trip in June has been canceled.

As of now, Super Summer (for 6th-12th) and Kansas Bible Camps (for 3rd-8th) are both still moving forward as planned in July. This is subject to change (particularly if our camp locations choose to cancel events), but for now we are looking forward to the kids participating in these core HFC events!

COMMUNION TO BE HELD SUNDAY, APRIL 26

Even though we are not able to fellowship and connect like we used to, we're grateful that we can connect online on Sundays. On Sunday, April 26 we will be taking communion together in our homes. Even though we are not physically together, we can celebrate Jesus and our oneness in Christ. In preparation for this, we’d encourage you on your next trip to the store to pick up some grape juice and unleavened bread (or regular bread if you can’t find unleavened bread). Also, read I Cor. 11:23-34; I John 1:9 in preparation for taking the bread and cup.

SUSPENSION OF ALL ORGANIZED ACTIVITIES IN THE CHURCH BUILDING

Based on the current National, State and Local guidance, we have suspended all organized activities at the church building. This includes Sunday morning service, youth and children’s activities, Micronesian Family Fellowship activities, etc. We will monitor the guidance from our community leaders and modify our posture as and when appropriate.

SMALL GROUP MEETINGS ARE ON HIATUS

The health and well-being of our church family and our support to the effort to prevent the spread of the virus is a priority. Based on the most recent community leadership guidance, in person gatherings are prohibitive. With this understanding, we feel we should lead by example within our church family. For the short term we discourage continued, organized small group meetings. As the situation improves, we will restore our small group meetings as soon as possible. Even so, we believe that our Small Group Ministry will be critical during this period to maintain the strength of the body and we encourage the small groups to become a foundation of membership care through continuous contact and information sharing during this period. If you are not formally involved in a small group, please reach out to Andy Nocks (Deacon) at 816-805-5541 or anocks@kc.rr.com.

WEEKLY WORSHIP SERVICE - We feel strongly about staying connected through organized worship. We intend to provide a live streaming service on Sunday mornings at 10:15 a.m. through Facebook Live. If you are not involved in Facebook or do not understand how to access and participate in the streaming worship service, please reach out to the HFC Leadership Team (Pastors and Deacons) and we will help you as possible.

PODCAST - Don't forget that we have an archive of podcasted sermons available should you be unable to connect on Sunday mornings or if you need additional encouragement throughout the week.

GIVING OPTIONS - We are, and always have been a generous church body. We feel it is important to maintain our giving during this period so we can continue to support God’s Church and our external ministry programs. We are offering online giving via Paypal. If you prefer to continue to contribute through a written check, please mail your contribution to the church as follows:
